Anyway, the naughty little dissenting voice took objection to my current storyline, especially the implication that all morals are based on religion. If that's the way you're reading my strip, you have gone far wrong. As Zadok pointed out, all morals (provided we even have a logical basis for our moral actions, which many people don't) are goal-based.

Christians, for example, do unto others as they would have others do unto themselves because their goal is to please and glorify God. Buddhists follow the eightfold path because their goal is to boost their karma and ascend towards Nirvana. Atheists are not necessarily without morals, but theirs is one of the only worldviews that does not come with a preset moral goal. They need to find their own purpose to which their morals will be directed; such as personal development, the greater social good, or the benefit of loved ones.
