Really, in a functional sense, we as healthy human beings will be moral to some extent, regardless of our reasons for doing so. Many people would say that the reasons are tacked on to pre-existing Darwinian moral instincts after the fact. Maybe so. Doesn't change the fact that the goals behind atheistic morality will always have an air of arbitrariness that religious moralities transcend.
